INDIA: Batting Genius Sachin Tendulkar led the praises on Twitter for Rishabh Pant. They put on a tremendous counter-attacking exhibition on the first day of the rescheduled 5th Test between India and England at Edgbaston on Friday, July 1. Pant mesmerized the cricketing world with a swashbuckling knock of 146 off just 111 balls as he salvaged India from a precarious 98 for 5 to a strong position with 338 for 7 at stumps.
Immediately after stumps, Sachin Tendulkar posted on Twitter, “Simply awesome @RishabhPant17! Well done.” He also praised Ravindra Jadeja, who was involved in 222 runs partnership with Pant. He posted, ” Crucial innings by @imjadeja. Rotated the strike well and played some amazing shots.” Jadeja remained unbeaten on 83 when play was called off for the day.
Indian Leg Spinner Amit Mishra also praises Rishabh Pant for his brilliant innings. “When in trouble, call the Spiderman (Pant)! What a fierce knock by rockstar Rishabh Pant against a quality English bowling unit under such circumstances. The best way to fight a fire is to fight it with the fire,” he posted.
Afghanistan Leggie, Rashid Khan, praised Pant and said,” @RishabhPant17 simply amazing.”
The Chairman of the Mahindra group was ga ga over Pant’s masterclass. “Test Cricket Tandav. #RishabhPant is a sports artiste. Impossible not to marvel at him…”
