UNITED STATES: The renowned “Titanic” director James Cameron and Kate Winslet reunited for Avatar: The Way of Water. Now, fans finally get a proper look at the Academy Award-winning actress as Ronal. Empire Magazine gave an appropriate glimpse of Kate’s Navi look with newly released images. The much-awaited sequel sets Kate as an essential persona among the returning original cast members: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang.
Empire Magazine shares a proper glimpse of Kate’s character
Kate remarked on her character to Empire Magazine, where she defines Ronal as “She is strong. A warrior.” Even in the face of grave danger and an unborn baby on board, she still joins her people and fights for what she holds most dear. Her family and their home.”
The legendary filmmaker and Academy Award-winning actress first worked together on the magnum opus Titanic in 1997. After 26 years, Kate reunites with Cameron to resurrect his action-heroine heyday. Her oceanic relationship with Avatar 2 at this time is quite different. She was needed to dive underwater rather than float on the surface, surpassing Tom Cruise’s previous record for the longest underwater breath-hold in a feature film in the process. For Cameron’s much-awaited sequel, Kate held her breath for seven minutes and fourteen seconds.
Whether Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley or Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, all marked the badass female character in James Cameron’s sci-fi featurette. Cameron’s action heroines hold a genuine rawness that ages perfectly with time. Kate Winslet’s character, Ronal, marks the return of Cameron’s action heroine era.
Avatar: The Way of Water will focus on Sully family
The sequel will take place more than a decade after the first film’s occurrences. The Sully family, consisting of Jake, Neytiri, and their kids, will be the narrative’s central focus. The story will start with the danger that pursues them, which will test them for how far they will go to protect one another, as well as the battles they will engage in to remain alive and, most importantly, the tragedies they will experience.
Avatar 2 is the first instalment of a four-part saga based on the original Avatar (2009). James Cameron has planned the four movies in his sci-fi epic that will wholly conclude as a saga. Each successive chapter will build its own story that will be integrated to form the epic voyage of the Navi across the aesthetically breathtaking world of Avatar.
