Nigeria to Host Global Conference on Tourism, Culture and Creative Industry 

The event will take place in the National Theater Complex in the state of Lagos from November 14 to November 16

NIGERIA. Abuja. Lagos State: The Global Conference on Tourism, Culture, and Creative Industries of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will be held in Nigeria this year. The event will take place in the National Theater Complex in the state of Lagos from November 14 to November 16.

Nigeria hosting the international event will open up amazing prospects for the nation to flourish in its culture, tourism, and creativity, according to Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

First UNWTO Global Conference on Linking Tourism, Culture, and the Creative Industries: Pathways to Recovery and Inclusive Development will take place, and Mohammed inaugurated a 24-member planning committee that will oversee the event’s operations. Mohammed also noted that the conference will provide a platform for people to advertise their businesses and for Nigeria to further fortify its ties with UNWTO and its member states.

“This event will also be an avenue for people to interact and share ideas about industries, practice with reputable organization players and generate ideas on how to create and run a tourism sector,” Mohammed noted.

Mohammed urged the organizing committee members to work together to ensure that the event’s goals are met and that it is a success.

“Today’s inauguration of the Planning Committee kick starts our preparation for the global conference. The task ahead is enormous, but with the quality of membership of the Planning Committee, I am optimistic that Nigeria will successfully organize an event of this magnitude,” Mohammed said.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, will serve as chairman of the planning committee, with Dr. Adaora Ifeoma Anyawutaku, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, serving as his deputy.

Other members of the Committee are Ambassador Demola Seriki, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to UNWTO and Ambassador to Spain; Mrs. Abike Dabiri Erewa, Executive chairperson, Nigerian Diaspora Commission; Ambassador Nasir Aminu, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Segun Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the President, Office of the Minister of Information and Culture; Mr. Williams Adeleye, Special Assistant to the President, Office of the Minister of Information and Culture and Mr. Bayo Omoboriowo, Personal Photographer to the President.
