INDIA: The Kashmiri Files is only a few weeks away from its release and ahead of its debut the makers have shared first-look motion posters featuring lead actors.
The film is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, who has previously directed notable films such as Buddha in a Traffic Jam (2016) and The Tashkent Files (2019). Among his works, The Tashkent Files was a smash hit.
The film’s ensemble cast includes National Awardee winners Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi. It also stars prominent actors such as Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Darshan Kumaar, Bhasha Sumbli, Amaan Iqbal, Mrinal Kulkarni, Prithviraj Sarnaik, and Atul Srivastava.
After a long delay due to pandemics, the film will finally be released on 26th January 2022. In anticipation of the release, the film has published character motion posters. Which stars Anupam Kher as Pushkar Nath Pandit, Mithun Chakraborty as Brahma Dutt, Pallavi Joshi as Radhika Menon, Darshan Kumaar as Krishna Pandit, Chinmay Mandlekar as Farooq Malik Bitta, Bhasha Sumbli as Sharda Pandit, Prithviraj Sarnaik as Shiva Pandit, Atul Srivastava as Vishnu, Prakash Belawadi as Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Puneet Issar as DGP Hari Narain and Mrinal Kulkarni as Laxmi Dutt.
What does her character in Kashmiri Files mean?
As The Kashmiri Files’ premiere date approaches, the filmmakers are releasing posters one by one, building anticipation for the trailer. Another well-known actor, Bhasha Sumbli, has joined the cast as Sharda Pandit. Her character is Pushkar Nath Pandit’s daughter-in-law, who lost her husband in the genocide in the 1990s.
Bhasha Sumbli is known for Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak (2020). Her acting abilities are bolstered by the fact that she is also a theatre artist. Above all, she is a Kashmiri Pandit, which will provide additional reality to the film’s storyline.
