INDIA. Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorists killed two policemen and injured 12 others in a deadly bus attack in Kashmir. According to the reports, the bus was carrying Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police personnel on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday.

The attack came on the police bus on the 20th anniversary of the attack on the Parliament building. The shocking and ghastly attack against the Parliament House on 13th December 2001 was an assault on the Indian democracy.
The injured people were immediately evacuated to hospitals where two of them died.

An assistant sub-inspector of the armed police was among the deceased. Meanwhile, the officials have said that a search operation has been launched to track down the terrorists. So far, no terrorist groups have claimed responsibility for the attack.

Kashmir has been a victim of insurgencies and terrorist attacks for a long time. But, since 2000, the insurgency has become less violent.

Several insurgent groups are also focusing on a peaceful resolution to the conflicts. These insurgent groups have different motives in Kashmir. Some want complete independence from both countries while others want to unify with Pakistan.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences to the bereaved families.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister’s Office said, “PM Narendra Modi has sought details on the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. He has also expressed condolences to the families of those security personnel who have been martyred in the attack.”

Condemning the attack, National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah tweeted, “Terrible news of a terror attack on a police bus on the outskirts of Srinagar. I unequivocally condemn this attack while at the same time send my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased & prayers for the injured.”
