NIGERIA. Niger State: Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has banned the sale of motorcycles across the state. In a press release through Secretary to the state government, (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim MataneBello said that the reason behind the ban is a rise in banditry across the state. The ban is aimed at curbing the constant rise of kidnapping and banditry in the state.

The motorcycle brands that have been affected by the government ban are; Bajaj, Boxer, Qiujeng, Honda ACE, Jingchen, among others. “Henceforth, the above-named items will remain banned in the state until further notice,” Bello said.
