SPAIN: Nathalie Picquot, Director General of Twitter Spain has announced her resignation today after three years of service. Picquot mentioned through a tweet, that she is “looking forward to starting a new stage in her career with new learnings and different challenges.” She also appreciates her time on the social platform and highlights the “great team” she has led.
Picquot’s resignation comes as a surprise, which would have led the company to find a person who will occupy the Picquot role in organization. According to a Twitter Spain spokesperson to CincoDías, the company will begin “immediately the process of searching for a replacement. Initially we will see that it can be someone from the internal team, and we hope to have the process resolved quickly,” person adds.

As per Twitter policy and regulations, officials does not have more information about the reasons for Picquot resignation. They do point out that they are “enormously grateful to Nathalie for her contributions to the company in the last three years and we wish her the best.”

The Twitter spokesperson highlights that Picquot, who has participated in the strategic turn that the platform took after the return to the company of its co-founder Jack Dorsey, has consolidated the company’s business in Spain. And spokesperson assures that “she is leaving at a time when Twitter Spain is aligned with the growth in both the number of users and the global business, and with a consolidated team and at a very good time for the company.”
Picquot worked for almost 12 years at Google before taking over the leadership of Twitter Spain, where she replaced Pepe López de Ayala. The executive had also previously worked at Adlink, DoubleClick and the International Herald Tribune.
